Fernley Estates Senior Living welcomes new administrator

Carson City-based Mission Senior Living (MSL) welcomes Laura Higman as designated manager of Fernley Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, an assisted living and memory care community located at 1130 Chisholm Trail in Fernley.

Higman will oversee operations and lead a team of professionals trained in the MSL’s mission, values, and principles (MVPs) to provide quality care, support,  and opportunities for joy, purpose, and fun.

“Laura believes in our mission of improving the lives of seniors,” said Sarah Green, vice president of operations for Mission Senior Living. “Her dedication and passion for seniors will ensure that we continue to exceed the expectations of residents and their families, and that Fernley Estates remains a great place to live and work.”

Higman is a former quality assurance director and director of culinary services at Atria Senior Living and is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. She earned a degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale, Ariz., and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
