Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently searching for a suspect who robbed the Fernley branch of Nevada State Bank, while the FBI is on the way to take over the investigation.

Deputies were dispatched to the bank at 250 Highway 95A at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Deputies arrived and contacted the staff inside the bank, who confirmed that a bank robbery had just occurred.

LCSO said the suspect had a note demanding money and he got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The description of the suspect was a man in his 20’s, with a dark complexion. The man was described as wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a beanie hat.

No one was injured during this incident.

The bank closed after the robbery and should resume normal operations tomorrow.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
