City hosting drive through Spooktacular

City hosting drive through Spooktacular

Robert Perea. The Fernley Reporter

One of the City of Fernley’s largest annual events will look much different this year.

Because of restrictions on the size of gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City will be hosting it’s annual Halloween Spooktacular as a drive through event in the parking lot of the Out of Town Park this Saturday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m.

Participants will enter the event from the entrance to the park on Farm District Rd. and exit onto U.S. 50A.

The city has worked with a host of private and business sponsors to hand out candy to children at the vent.

Participants are required to remain in their vehicle at all times and must wear a face mask if the vehicle windows are rolled down. Any person who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms or has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last two weeks prior to the event will not be allowed to enter the event. Participants should only attend the event with persons who are members of the same household or residence.

No walk-up trick or treating will be allowed.
