The Fernley Reporter
The Silverland Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team capped an outstanding season by finishing with only two losses and winning the Sagebrush League Tournament Championship.
“This was an outstanding accomplishment for these young athletes,” coach Tom Kingston said. “For all of their hard work they put into practices and into the games they played, it showed they cared about becoming a better basketball player. They were great students of the game and when you have athletes that care and listen to what needs to be done it doesn’t get any better than that. These girls met the challenge and surpassed my expectations.”
Kingston said another reason for their great success is that this team cared about each other and had amazing team chemistry.
“These young ladies have great potential if they continue to work hard in the off season,” Kingston said. “Showing up to practice with the right attitude every day, I hope and wish them continued success in the game of basketball.”
