City Council, fire board choose committee to discuss revenues

City Council, fire board choose committee to discuss revenues
Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The Fernley City Council and the North Lyon County Fire Protection District Board of Directors have formed a joint committee to discuss ways to help the fire district increase revenues to deal with expected growth.

At its June 15 meeting, the City Council named council members Sue Seidl and Stan Lau and Mayor Roy Edgington to the committee, and the fire board named Jon Osborn and Vern Watson to the committee.

The entities agreed to form the committee during a joint meeting of the two boards on June 2, in which the two boards agreed to consider options such as an assessment, impact fees on new construction and other sources to help the fire district find revenue to maintain services with the expected increases in call volume as the city grows.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
