City to host follow-up meeting to discuss Truckee Canal

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Fernley City Manager Daphne Hooper will host a follow-up meeting via Zoom at 10 a.m. Friday to update residents and discuss the Truckee Canal.

Hooper and attorney David Rigdon of the Taggart & Taggart Law Firm held a meeting on April 20 to update residents on the city’s work to fight a proposal by the Bureau of Reclamation to line the Truckee Canal, which the city says would deplete Fernley’s groundwater and cause domestic wells around the city to go dry.
