Voters begin receiving primary ballots

Voters begin receiving primary ballots

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Voters in Lyon County have begun receiving their ballots in the mail for the June 9 primary election.

All active registered voters in Nevada will be mailed an absentee ballot for the primary election. No action or steps, such as submitting an absentee ballot request application, will be required by individual voters in order to receive a ballot in the mail.

Ballots may be returned to the County Clerk/Treasurer’s office at the Lyon County Administration Building at 27 S. Main St. in Yerington by mail or in person any time up until the June 9 primary election. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received in the Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. seven days after Election Day.

Ballots returned in person must be delivered by the voter themselves or an immediate family member, and only one ballot is permitted per envelope. If more than one ballot are in the same envelope, neither will be counted.

Beginning May 23, the Clerk/Treasurer’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. o Saturdays, through Election Day.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
