City hosting Citizens Leadership Academy starting Feb. 13

The next City of Fernley Citizens Leadership Academy is coming up beginning Feb. 13.

The Leadership Academy is designed for residents who want to learn how the city government and services operate.

Attendees will learn about the City of Fernley government structure and meet elected officials and City staff, learn about the City of Fernley departments and their operations, learn about the programs and services provided by the City of Fernley and connect with neighbors in the community.

The Fernley Citizens Leadership Academy starts on Thursday, Feb. 13 in the Council Chambers and meets every Thursday for six weeks.

Below is the schedule of topics to be covered. Individuals who attend all sessions earn a certificate signed by the Mayor and City Manager.

To sign up for the Citizens Leadership Academy call the City Manager's Office at (775) 784-9858 or email [email protected]. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, Feb. 11 to ensure there will be enough materials for all participants.

The Citizens Leadership Academy is sponsored by the Fernley Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fernley.

  • Feb. 13th: City Manager/City Council/Fernley Chamber of Commerce
  • Feb. 20th: City Clerk / City Treasurer
  • Feb 27th: City Attorney / Municipal Court
  • March 5th: Building Dept / Planning Dept
  • March 12th: Public Works
  • March 19th: Public Works (cont.)/City Engineering/Graduation
