9th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held at Senior Center

9th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held at Senior Center

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The 9th annual Fernley Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at the Fernley Senior Center located at 1170 W. Newlands Dr. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Doors will close at 4 p.m.

The dinner is open for all, regardless of their circumstances.

There is no charge for the dinner, which is put together by volunteers whose sole purpose is to help bring our small corner of the world closer together.

The idea was formed years ago from a 10-year-old girl named Sarah Jean Gleason. It was her opinion and observation that in today’s society, we need to band together, help each other and build new relationships to help strengthen our community.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
