Relay for Life team beginning preparations for 2020 event

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The organizers of Relay for Life of Fernley and Rural Nevada is gearing up for the 2020 event, which will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Fernley Out-of-Town Park.

The Relay for Life committee is hoping this year’s 24-hour gala and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be their biggest and most successful yet.

This year’s theme is “Rainbow of Hope,” symbolizing the positive experiences and relationships that are built while fighting cancer together through participation in events like the Relay. The Event Leadership Team holds organizational meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. at Round Table Pizza in Fernley. Team Captains’ meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the same location.

Fernley Relay for Life has two co-chairs of the event this year, Ryan Robinson and Marla Nichols, both with many years of experience volunteering with the Relay.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
