Including their best score of the season, the Fernley High School girls golf continued to improve upon early season results in three meets over the past two weeks.

At Fallon on Oct. 1, the Vaqueros recorded their best team score of the season, placing sixth with a collective total score of 480.

Individually, Teagan Summers led the Vaqueros with her season best score of 108, Haeley Diehl followed up with a 114, Josie Youngs carded a 126, Laney Miller checked in at 132 and Leonie Dechant shot 135.

Elko won the meet with a team score of 391, Truckee finished second at 400, Fallon came in third at 422, Spring Creek was fourth with 435 and South Tahoe was fifth at 472.

Truckee’s Ryan Flynn was the individual winner with a 73, 15 strokes better than second place finisher Chilz Negrete of Elko.

Individual scores for Fernley were Diehl 117, Summers 123, Miller 128 and Youngs 133.

Flynn was the individual winner with a 71, while Caresse Basaraba of Elko came in second with an 86.
