GNCU Celebrates Grand Opening of Fernley branch with donation to Wreaths Across America

GNCU Celebrates Grand Opening of Fernley branch with donation to Wreaths Across America

Joined by Fernley Mayor Roy Edgington Jr., the Fernley Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Veterans Coalition Color Guard and Fernley Vaquero Marching Band, Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) hosted a community event celebrating the grand opening of its new Fernley Branch on Oct. 1.

Nevada’s largest domiciled, community-owned financial institution, GNCU, opened its 14th branch in the Silver State. Construction of the new 10,000-square foot building started in August 2018. The branch features a local member services team; video lending capabilities; drive-up Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) and 24/7 banking vestibule with an ITM and coin-counting machine securely accessed by simply swiping a GNCU VISA debit card. The building also features an additional space available for rent by local retailers.

During the grand opening, the Nevada Veterans Coalition Color Guard raised the colors and a $1,000-donation from GNCU was made to the Coalition to support Wreaths Across America. Following the presentation of the colors and national anthem by the Fernley Vaquero Marching Band, Fernley city officials and GNCU leadership cut the ceremonial money ribbon to officially open the branch’s doors.

GNCU is currently building two more branches—one in Sparks on Vista Blvd. near I-80 and a second in Elko.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
