Sisolak appoints Dini to replace Hunewill

Governor Steve Sisolak has appointed Jay Dini to the vacant seat on the Lyon County Commission created by the death of Commissioner Greg Hunewill.

Dini’s appointment was effective Sept. 17 to serve the remainder of Hunewill’s term, through Jan. 4, 2021. He will be sworn into office at the Oct. 3 Commission meeting.

Dini is the son of the late Assembly Speaker Joe Dini, who served in the Assembly from 1967 to 2001.
