Healthy Communities meets in Fernley Thursday

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties will hold its monthly breakfast meeting in Fernley this Thursday, Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. at Silverland Middle School's room 105.

Guest speakers include Cody Wagner of the Fernley Community Foundation and Donna McDonald of Nevada Legal Services.

Wagner chairs the Fernley Community Foundation, serves on the City of Fernley Planning Commission, and coaches football and basketball at Fernley High School. He is also Healthy Communities' Training Coordinator for the Nevada Community Health Worker Association.

McDonald will describe the many services of Nevada Legal Services, a statewide non-profit organization providing free legal services to low income Nevadans in every county.

In addition, the Coalition agenda includes discussion and updates on issues of regional importance across Lyon and Storey counties, including access to health care and affordable, local food and efforts toward building sustainable, community-based development.

Silverland Middle School is located at 1100 Jasmine Ln, Fernley, NV 89408.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
