Deadline is Friday for applicants for Ward 4 Council seat

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The City of Fernley is seeking applicants to fill the City Council seat for Ward 4 being vacated by Sue Seidl.

Applicants must have been a resident of the City of Fernley for one year, and currently reside in Ward 4. If you would like to be considered for the vacancy, submit an application and completed questionnaire to Human Resources by 4 p.m. July 26. Complete applications will be screened, and a special City Council meeting will be held to conduct interviews to successful applicants.

The Fernley City Council meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. Additional special meetings are held throughout the year as needed, such as budget hearings. Council members are asked to be on other committees which could result in additional meetings as well.

Seidl resigned her post on the council because she is moving.

If you have any questions, please contact Shannon McKnight, HR Manager, at 775-784-9863 or [email protected].
