Fernley High School graduate Tyler Roemer has agreed to terms with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent, according to 247sports.com.

Following three seasons at San Diego St., Roemer declared for the 2019 NFL draft, but he was not chosen during the draft’s seven rounds. That left him free to negotiate with any of the league’s teams to compete for a roster spot.

Roemer, a 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive tackle, graduated from Fernley in 2016 and became the first football player in school history to earn a Division I college scholarship directly from high school.

He redshirted that fall at San Diego St., then started at left tackle for the next two seasons, until being suspended for the team’s last two games this past season for what the school termed “a violation of team rules.”

Roemer started 23 games for the Aztecs. He earned USA Today Freshman All-American honors and was a second-team All-Mountain West selection as a redshirt freshman

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
