Fernley’s Roemer declares for NFL draft

Fernley’s Roemer declares for NFL draft

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Following three seasons at San Diego St., Fernley High School graduate Tyler Roemer has declared for the 2019 NFL draft.

Roemer, a 6-foot-7, 315-pound redshirt sophomore, graduated from Fernley in 2016 and became the first football player in school history to Division I college scholarship directly from high school.

He redshirted that fall at San Diego St., then started at left tackle for the next two seasons, until being suspended for the team’s last two games this past season for what the school termed “a violation of team rules.”

Roemer started 23 games for the Aztecs. He earned USA Today Freshman All-American honors and was a second-team All-Mountain West selection as a redshirt freshman

On Dec. 14, Roemer posted a message on Twitter that he was focusing on preparing and training for the 2019 NFL draft. On Jan. 18, Roemer’s name was included in a list announced by the NFL of 135 college underclassmen who were granted eligibility for the 2019 draft.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
