With winter approaching, Western Nevada College’s Veterans Resource Center is participating in a donation drive of mostly clothing items for homeless veterans.

Donations can be made at the Veterans Resource Center during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 10. People are encouraged to donate gloves, socks, jackets, blankets, toilet paper, underwear and reading glasses in particular, although all serviceable clothing items will be accepted.

WNC is supporting former WNC Student Veterans Club President Matthew Hodges, now a University of Nevada, Reno student, who developed the effort for a Project Management class project. Donation bins will also be located at the University of Nevada, Reno, on the first floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union, the second floor of the Knowledge Center and the second floor of the Pennington Student Achievement Center.

For more information, contact Hodges at 775-445-9497. Contact the WNC Veterans Resource Center at 775-445-3301; it is located on the third floor of the Cedar Building Room 300.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
