CITY OF FERNLEY Transient Lodging Tax Increase
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Fernley is soliciting information from regarding the proposed Transient Lodging Tax increase to prepare a Business Impact Statement pursuant to NRS 237.090. The funds from Transient Lodging Tax are applied to the Transient Lodging fund, which may be used to promote tourism to the City of Fernley and to operate, maintain, improve, extend, construct, or purchase civic facilities that are under the jurisdiction of the City Council.

Any owners and officers of businesses which are likely to be affected by the restructure may submit data or arguments as to whether the proposed action will (a) impose a direct and significant economic burden upon a business; or (b) directly restrict the formation, operation or expansion of a business. A workshop will be held for public comments on the proposed changes. Please attend the workshop on Wednesday, October 24th, 2018 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. It will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall 595 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley, NV 89408.

Any data or arguments must be received by Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 by 5 p.m. The City Council MAY introduce a Resolution to adopt the Business Impact Statement on or before December 19, 2018.
