Greater Nevada to break ground on new Fernley branch

Greater Nevada to break ground on new Fernley branch
The Fernley Reporter

Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) officially breaks ground August 16 on its new branch being built at the corner of E. Newlands Drive and Stanley Drive in Fernley. The building will be approximately 10,000 square feet, with the credit union occupying 40 percent of the building and the other 60 percent available for other retail use.

“We’re looking forward to providing our Fernley members and community with greater convenience through this new branch,” GNCU Chief Financial Officer Joyce Whitney-Silva said. “Our subsidiary Greater Nevada Mortgage has had an office in Fernley for several years, and GNCU also has an ATM in Fernley, so we appreciate the opportunity to expand our relationship in this community.”

Whitney-Silva says the new branch is expected to open in the summer of 2019 and will feature the latest in banking technology, including, interactive teller machines both inside and at the drive through, and even a state-of-the art coin machine. The new branch will be conveniently located on the corner in front of the Walmart Supercenter.

Northern Nevada business partners for the project include CWX Architects, Inc. of Reno, which designed the new branch, and Carson City based contractors Shaheen Beauchamp, which is building the branch.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
