This year’s Fernley Intermediate School 6th grade boys and girls teams won the Sagebrush League track meet to take home the trophies.

For many of these athletes it’s the first time competing in school athletics.

The dedication and sacrifice it takes to do this is not always easy,” coach Dave Burns said. “These athletes surpassed all expectations in this area resulting in the success each individual experienced. The willingness to challenge the body as well as the mind is no easy task. This was the character of this team and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Each athlete broke their own personal records, and Clayton Williams broke the Sagebrush League long jump record with a jump of 14’3”.

Coaches Jessie Weller and Dave Burns would like to thank all athletes for their hard work and making this the best season possible.

“The future is bright for these kids and with the habits they exhibited sky is the limit,” Burns said.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
