FIS annual STEM Day

On Tuesday, April 10, Fernley Intermediate School held its annual STEM Day with great success once again.

Mr. Kirby said it best when thanked for his attendance, “These kids are our future work force. I’m honored to be here.”

Presenters included the following:

  • Greg Stevens - drones and careers

  • Adam Kirby - Gigafactory/Tesla

  • Rick Capps - Nevada Automotive Test Center

  • Trista Speth and Silverland Middle School students - SMS Lego Competition Club

  • Rachel Lyons and Fernley Hight School students - FHS Robotics Club

  • Dave Christenson - bike racing equipment

  • Dr. Edward Keppelmann - UNR math is fun presentation

  • Matthew Bauters and Kevin Baker - new tech from the UNR DeLaMare library

  • Sergeant Chris Bixby - Lyon County with technology over time

  • Reno AREA 99s

  • Cody Wagner - chemical engineering
