Submitted by David Perry, Teacher of Gifted, Talented, and Acceleration Program

Silverland Middle School seventh graders Bryce Hardy and Roslyn Jones won silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the 6-8 grade division of the Discovery Museum Scratch Code Challenge.

Students from around the country created games or presentations using the Scratch Coding platform.

Hardy won for his game Birthday Bash, where you parachute into your birthday party trying to avoid balloons accidentally released by your guests (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/209057419/).

Jones won for her game Mars Invasion (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/208760912/), where you need to rescue a family from an alien spaceship.

Congratulations to both winners and all those students in Mr. Perry's 6th period class who entered.
