Three members of the Fernley High School Band and nine members of the Choir received All-State recognition.
The FHS Band and Choir, led by Jason Smith traveled to Las Vegas to participate in the Nevada Music Educators Association (NMEA) All-State Convention 2018. The students auditioned and were selected as the very best in the state.
The members named to the All-State Band were:
- Caber Smith (12th)– French Horn
- Tatum Johnson (12th) – Herwick: Trumpet
- Jacquelyn Wardell (10th) – Trombone
The students named to the All-State choir were
- MyKayla Boyle (12th) – Soprano 1
- Ashley Ward (12th) – Alto 1
- Maile Manzanares (11th) – Alto 1
- Lillian Nattress (9th) – Alto 1
- Crystal Winslett (10th) – Alto 2
- Seth Gibson (12th) – Tenor 1
- Kylend Snider (10th) – Tenor 2
- Shawn Narwold (10th) – Bass 2
- Seth Bake (10th) – Bass 2
