Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter
Weather has played havoc with much of the first half of the Northern 3A League schedule for the Fernley baseball and softball teams, but it’s a different reason the Vaqueros won’t be playing on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s games between Fernley and Fallon, which had been moved from last Tuesday because the previous weekend’s games had been postponed because of weather, have been postponed because no umpires are available.
The games have been rescheduled for next Tuesday, April 24, as part of a doubleheader. The teams were scheduled to meet for a single game that day.
The Fernley baseball team won three games over the weekend against Spring Creek, while the softball team swept three games in Spring Creek, and also faced Lowry Monday afternoon, in a makeup of a game that was postponed in March.

Comment text: Maybe there is more to this story than what is reported, but it seems to me that the businesses that are causing this problem ought to be paying for this, or at least a major portion of it. Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
