Reno Tahoe Comedy presents Drew Shafer’s “Conquering Cancer with Comedy” fundraiser

Reno Tahoe Comedy presents Drew Shafer’s “Conquering Cancer with Comedy” fundraiser
The Fernley Reporter

Reno Tahoe Comedy is proud to present Drew Shafer’s “Conquering Cancer with Comedy”. Partial proceeds from this show will benefit the Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society annual event that takes place in cities across the country.

Drew Shafer

Drew Shafer, better known as “Fernley’s Finest”, is a Reno Tahoe Comedy favorite and starred in the short film “Russian Roulette” which was selected as a Best of Nevada film for the 2018 Dam Short Film Festival. Shafer is also a former high school math teacher with many stories to share. He blends charming awkwardness, self-deprecation, and clever twists and turns to entertain every crowd he encounters.

Shafer started the “Conquering Cancer with Comedy” show in honor of his older brother, Kyle, who passed away from cancer in 2013. Kyle’s clever puns and ability to make anyone feel better led Drew to try stand-up comedy. Kyle was only able to see Drew perform one time before he passed away, but Drew has continued comedy in Kyle’s memory.

The show will also feature performances from the top Reno and Sacramento talent. Hosting is Jimmy Earll, featuring Kelly Hilbert and guest appearances by Sammy Solorio and Jim Fleming. Come enjoy a great show and support a great cause at the same time!

Reno Tahoe Comedy offers a full bar with no drink minimum and nightly drink specials in a beautiful, smoke free theater setting. Please call 775-322-LAFF now to book your group or corporate event.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
