Pyramid Lake Fire Department to issue alerts in case of flooding

Pyramid Lake Fire Department to issue alerts in case of flooding
Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

In preparation of flooding, the Pyramid Lake Fire Department and EMS services will be sending out Code Red alerts to help keep residents informed of changes and concerns. This includes the Sutcliffe area, Surprise Valley Road, Big Bend Ranch Road and those located close to the Truckee River.

To receive the messages on your smart phone, you will need to download the free Code Red app from your iPhone or Google Play store. Your phone’s locator services must be turned on to receive the messages.

In addition, NV Energy will be working on the power lines in Dead Ox on Thursday night, from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.. This was originally scheduled for Friday from midnight to around 8 a.m.

Power will be out for approximately 250 customers in the Nixon area
