What does art have to do with science? “Art has been important to STEM in the past. Our logo was designed by a student. We like to reach out and show that art is part of science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” said Marjorie Mauck, STEM Council member and organizer of the art competition. Approximately 35 students from fifth grade through high school participated. The theme was “Balancing the clean energy equation.”

Description: My film is showing the conflict between clean energy sources and fossil fuels with the hope that clean energy production triumphs in the future.

Description: Showing both sides of our energy consumption, showing how it is equal and balanced.

Title: "Power of the Wind"
Description: My piece focuses on the beauty of the power of wind. It emphasizes how wind power is good for the environment by displaying an environment of green grass, flowers, and a girl admiring the view. My artwork also shows the magnitude of clean energy with the contrast in size between the windmill and the girl.
The art will be on display during the upcoming STEM Festival at the Fernley High School on Thursday, March 1st from 5-8pm.
