Boys basketball: Vaqueros top Moapa Valley

The Fernley High School boys basketball team won its second game in the Lake Mead Invitational Friday afternoon, beating Moapa Valley 70-56.

Rei Robinett led the Vaqueros with 16 points, Russell Ortiz added 13 and Drew Miller pitched in with 11.

Fernley took control of the game early, leading 24-13 after the first quarter, then opened up the margin in the third to 48-34.

Fernley is now 2-1 overall, and plays The Meadows Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Fernley scoring: Drew Miller 11, Rei Robinett 16, Zac Terra 4, Zach Burns 8, Russell Ortiz 13, Dario Ceresola 6, Ricky Dumont 3, Jay King 5, Kyle Heimbruch 4.
