WNC, TMCC hosting Promise Scholarship workshops

Western Nevada College and Truckee Meadows Community College are each hosting a a handful of financial aid meetings to help the hundreds of high school students remain eligible for the Nevada Promise Scholarship they applied for earlier this fall.

All Nevada Promise Scholarship candidates are required to attend both a mandatory information workshop in the Fall Semester (August–December) and a mandatory orientation session in the Spring Semester (February–April).

WNC is offering three financial aid sessions to choose from before the end of November in Cedar Building Room 331C (enter 331 to access 331C) on the Carson campus:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 21, 5:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 28, 3:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 29, 5:30 p.m.


Parent attendance is recommended, and assistance with FAFSA completion will be provided if parents and students bring their 2017 tax documents.

Students who have not attended a financial aid meeting at their high school are required to partake in one no later than Dec. 30.

  • Nov. 29, 2017; 5:30–6:30 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 7, 2017; 3:30–4:30 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 13, 2017; 5:30–6:30 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 16, 2017; 10–11 a.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 16, 2017; 1–2 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 18, 2017; 3:30–4:30 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)

  • Dec. 20, 2017; 3:30–4:30 p.m., Dandini Campus, SIER 108 (OPEN)
