2017 Spooktacular Safe Trick or Treating Event Scheduled for October 31st

2017 Spooktacular Safe Trick or Treating Event Scheduled for October 31st

The City of Fernley's annual Spooktacular Safe Trick or Treating Event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31st from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at City Hall.  2017 marks the tenth year that the City has coordinated this free annual activity for local children.

In 2016, over 2,400 trick or treaters attended the Spooktacular, participants ranged in age from infant to teen, and include parents and grandparents.  This year, the City is fortunate to have over 30 supporters for the vent, comprised of local businesses.  These local business have generously shared monetary donations and/or volunteered staff time to assist with set up of tables and handing out candy to participants.  The monetary donations from our generous local businesses and individuals enable the City to purchase enough candy to distribute to all participants.

This year's Spooktacular highlights include:
-Fernley High School Band
-Nevada Highway Patrol Officers and North Lyon County Firefighters will be on site handing out candy
-Fernley Farmer's Market will be set up along Silver Lace Boulevard, across from City Hall
-Biggest Little Radio station will be broadcasting live from the event

The entrance for this year's Spooktacular will consist of a child-friendly decorated spooky hallway, beginning at the north doors into City Hall.  Trick or treaters will make their way through City Hall, gathering candy and goodies to the haunted Council Chambers, where only the bravest of kids will enter for chills and thrills.  Complimentary photos will be taken across the hall from Council Chambers in the Community Room.  Photos from the event will be available on the City's Facebook page.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
