The Fernley High School girls soccer team saw a two goal lead get away in a 3-2 loss to Dayton Wednesday evening.

Selena Arriaga Campos scored off an assist from Alexandra Nelson and Cielo Sanchez assisted on a goal by Nelson as Fernley took a 2-0 halftime lead.

But Dayton turned the tables in the second half, with two goals by Alaura Greenwalt and one by Perla Vega.

The loss drops Fernley to 3-3-4 in the Northern 3A B League, 3-5-4 overall. Fernley is in sixth place with four games remaining in the regular season. The win gave Dayton sole possession of third place with a 6-4 record. The top three teams in the B League advance to the regional tournament in Winnemucca.

Fernley plays at West Wendover Oct. 20 and at White Pine Oct. 21, then finishes the season with two home games the following week, against Lovelock Oct. 24 and Battle Mountain Oct. 26.
