Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter
The City of Fernley and the Nevada Veterans Coalition will host their 16th annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday.
The annual event at the Gazebo in the Out of Town Park features several speakers who discuss why it is important to remember the day 19 terrorists highjacked four planes and crashed them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon outside Washington, DC, and a field in Pennsylvania, where it was en route to hitting another target before passengers tried to retake the plane. More than 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters.
In addition, Fernley Intermediate School will host its eighth 9/11 memorial ceremony from 2-3 p.m. in the FIS gymnasium.

Comment text: Maybe there is more to this story than what is reported, but it seems to me that the businesses that are causing this problem ought to be paying for this, or at least a major portion of it. Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
