Commission to host workshop to focus on growth

Commission to host workshop to focus on growth

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Lyon County is expected to experience significant growth in the next few years, and the Board of County Commissioners is asking its partners to help come up with a plan to prepare.

The Board of Commissioners will be conducting a workshop at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Lyon County Administration Complex in Yerington to discuss the projected growth in the region.

The discussion will focus on impacts and what the County needs to do to prepare for the growth.

Lyon County has invited the cities of Fernley and Yerington, each of the county’s four fire districts, the Lyon County School Districts, the development community and Northern Nevada Development Authority to participate.

The discussion will be a part of the Commission’s normal agenda and is open to the public.
