Reyes awarded Fernley Republican Women’s scholarship

On May 24, at the Fernley High School Senior Awards Night, President Carol Franich presented the Fernley Republican Women’s $1,000 scholarship achievement award to Kailanee Young Reyes.

Since her freshman year, Reyes has been working toward an Assistant Nursing License. Her classroom instructor praised Reyes’ determination to succeed in the profession of nursing. In the political arena, Kailanee attended the caucus, registered to vote and is on a path to making knowledgeable voting decisions.

Kailanee plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno to obtain a Master of Science in nursing while working in a health care setting. When that goal is accomplished, she plans to continue her education and become a labor and delivery nurse or an obstetrician.

“We congratulate Kailanee Young Reyes on her accomplishments and gladly award her our $1,000 scholarship,” Fernley Republican Women’s Scholarship Chair Cindy O’Toole said.

The coin is beautiful. Congrats on 25 years as a city! Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
