A Nevada State Police Trooper on Saturday rescued a teenaged California girl who was reported missing last July, and arrested the man who was with her.

According to the State Police Highway Patrol, on Saturday, April 16, at approximately 1:55 p.m., the trooper observed a silver Toyota sedan parked at the Trinity Rest Area off of U.S. 95 in the area of Churchill County mile marker 58. Upon running a records check on the registration through Nevada State Police Dispatch, the Trooper was informed of a missing juvenile associated with the vehicle. Troopers contacted the driver and passenger of the vehicle. The driver was detained and placed in a patrol vehicle.
The female passenger who matched the description of a missing juvenile out of California and had been entered as missing by the Crescent City Police Department was identified as the missing juvenile. The driver, identified as Santos Galdino Flores Ramon, 40, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Sonoma County, California and transported to the Churchill County Detention Center. Troopers coordinated with Child Protective
Services to care for and relocate the missing juvenile.

The Crescent City Police Department had obtained an arrest warrant for Santos Flores-Roman March 31 after new information was obtained from the FBI during interviews in the Santa Rosa, Calif. area. Flores-Roman was a suspect in the disappearance of 14-year old Katuana Whisenant, who had last been seen July 23, 2021 and was believed to have been taken by Flores-Roman, her stepfather.
