Fernley Art Week returns with expanded lineup, new community activities

Creativity will take center stage as Fernley prepares to host its third annual Art Week, offering a wide range of events designed to engage residents of all ages and interests.

Organized with support from the Art Culture Event Squad (ACES), this year’s celebration features an eclectic mix of activities, from interactive and hands-on experiences to live performances and community gatherings. Events scheduled throughout the week include body paint yoga sessions, all-ages open mic nights, dance classes, line dancing, and opportunities to explore culinary arts. The week will conclude with the M3 Music, Murals & Margaritas festival at Out of Town Park.

Local venues, including McHopper’s Brew Pub, will host entertainment and performances, while other events will invite participants to showcase their talents, learn new skills, and connect with the community through art.

Organizers say the goal of Art Week is to highlight Fernley’s growing arts scene while creating accessible, family-friendly opportunities for residents to get involved.

New this year is an interactive Art Week punch card program designed to encourage participation across multiple events. Attendees can pick up a punch card at any Art Week activity and have it marked as they attend. Those who participate in at least three events can submit their completed card at the Art Week merchandise booth on May 16 to be entered into a prize drawing.

With a variety of offerings ranging from art classes and performances to auctions and demonstrations, organizers say there is something for everyone.

Many events will be free to attend, though some classes may require registration or have limited space. Residents are encouraged to watch for additional details about individual events as they are announced.

Community members are invited to bring friends and family and take part in the weeklong celebration of creativity and local talent.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
