Fernley businesses invited to exhibit at STEM Festival

The Fernley STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Council is calling for Fernley businesses to participate as exhibitors in this year’s STEM Festival on Feb. 26.

The Fernley STEM Festival is held annually at Fernley High School and is open to all Pre-K–12 students and adults in Northern Nevada, including traditional public schools, home schools and charter schools.

The 13th annual Fernley STEM Festival will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 5–8 p.m. Student posters are due to school coordinators on Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Businesses can participate by hosting a booth to demonstrate the science, technology, engineering and math in their field. In previous STEM festivals, local engineers explained the use of insulation products in construction; a Fernley veterinarian displayed the laser technology used in surgery; a local steel sculpture company displayed their art; and representatives from Fernley Public Works demonstrated the use of water meters using a display.

The deadline to register as a business exhibitor is Feb. 6. Registration forms are available at www.fernleystem.com.

I grew up in Fernley and would be interested to see how many answers I know. The coin is beautiful. Congrats on 25 years as a city! Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
