Fernley’s annual Christmas Parade will return Saturday, Dec. 6, with a lineup of floats, music and holiday traditions beginning at 5 p.m. along Main St. and ending at City Hall on Silverlace Blvd.
The parade will start at Locust Street with the Nevada Veterans Coalition leading the procession. The group will stop at North Lyon County Fire Protection District Station 61 to play the national anthem and present the colors.
Two announcers will provide commentary during the parade, one on the west side of the viewing stand and another on the east side.
This year’s grand marshal is Richard “Mac” McDonald, a Fernley resident, U.S. Navy veteran and retired Los Angeles Police Department officer. McDonald, who was recently honored at the 2025 Fern 45 Off-Road Poker Run, will ride in a red 1941 Ford convertible driven by Dan Ravetto, owner of the Canal Wine Lounge.
Mrs. Nevada Ruth Wayrynen will follow in a black 1950 Ford convertible driven by Fernley resident Larry Hicks.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride aboard NLCFPD Ladder 61, then greet families inside City Hall alongside the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office during “Cocoa with the Cops” at 6 p.m.
The city’s new Christmas tree will be lit at approximately 6:30 p.m. in front of City Hall.
Parade participants will begin registering at the Chamber of Commerce office at 3 p.m. and will form up on Locust Street ahead of the start.
