Marjorie Ann (Solanes) Albanese

Marjorie Ann (Solanes) Albanese

September 23, 1937 – November 16, 2025

Marjorie Ann Albanese, 88, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Winter Garden, Florida. She was born on September 23, 1937, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Joseph and Margaret Solanes.

Marjorie married Anthony (Tony) S. Albanese Jr. on July 9, 1960 in Niagara Falls, New York. Shortly after, the couple moved west—first to Reno, Nevada, in 1964, and then to Fernley, Nevada, in 1965—where they built a life rooted in family, community, and service.

A devoted homemaker, Marjorie also worked at a local flower shop and later as a clerk at Tucker’s Pharmacy in Fernley. Her dedication extended far beyond home and work; she was deeply involved in her sons’ activities, including Little League, Cub Scouts, and high school football. She briefly wrote for the Fernley Leader and was active in local politics. Marjorie also served her community as a member of the Fernley Search and Rescue team and was part of the Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

She called Fernley home for 35 years.

After the passing of her husband, Marjorie returned to Reno in 2000, where she continued her work as a pharmacy clerk until her retirement.

She later relocated to Winter Garden, Florida, to be closer to her niece Kathleen and her family where she spent her final years.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by her son, Tony III, daughter-in-law Gina, twin sons, Michael and Scott, numerous nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Marjorie will be laid to rest at the Fraternal Cemetery in Wadsworth, Nevada.

Marjorie's wish was not to have a funeral or service but her strength, dedication, and the care she showed to her family and community will be remembered always.
