Four-year Fernley resident Eva Price proudly displayed her first book, “Divine Whispers” at a
book signing last Saturday at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Fernley.
A clearly happy Price, who is 67, said this is her first book and she is planning a sequel. Price
said although she has written some essays in the past, as well as some fiction, this is the first time
she has been published.
“Divine Whispers” traces the true story of a little girl named Stacy who feels divine intervention
in her life, first saving her from nearly drowning as a young girl and throughout her life. The
book does not dictate beliefs; instead, it fosters an environment where readers can remember
what faith feels like when it is not imposed. Each chapter offers spiritual reflections and personal
insights conveyed in a calm, steady voice. There is no pressure to perform or to be perfect. The
only invitation is to show up with honesty and an open heart.
When pressed as to how she got onto this story, Price admitted it is her story. She is Stacy.
“It is my own life story,” she said. “Life is a journey. My goal is to bring as many people as I can
to where I’m going,” she said.
When she submitted a draft of her first book to the publisher, Parker Publishing in Florida, she
said they were anxious for more, telling her to “finish it,” which she did. She is now planning a
sequel, capturing the “missing years” of Stacy’s life, called “When Heaven Speaks: Miracles
Happen.”
Price said she does not know how many books she has sold, but it is selling well in Europe and
royalties have begun coming in.
The book is available on Amazon, selling the Kindle version for $4.99, a soft cover edition for
$8.99 and the hard cover edition for $14.99. No reviews have yet been posted on the website for
the book.
Price is an accountant by profession with an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. When
not relishing her role as a published author, Price works as a financial controller for a company
located in the Reno-Tahoe Industrial Center
She was an active member of Toastmasters International from 2015 to 2019, during which she
earned back-to-back recognition as both Area Director and Division Director of the Year
between 2016 and 2018. Alongside her professional life, Eva has found joy in exploring ancient
ruins with her husband. Their travels have taken them through the jungles of Cambodia and to
the mountaintops of Mexico, Peru, and Bolivia. These experiences have helped ground her in
faith and deepen her spiritual journey, which she now shares through her writing.
