Fernley, Yerington approve MOU for court services

The Fernley and Yerington city councils and the Lyon County Commission have each approved a

Memorandum of Understanding for Fernley to provide temporary court and administrative

support to Yerington while it recruits and hires permanent staff.

Under the agreement, Fernley will make qualified employees with court clerk experience and/or

administrative employees available to assist the city of Yerington with municipal court and

administrative functions, Yerington will reimburse Fernley for the costs, including overtime for

the employees.

The City of Yerington is currently seeking to fill the full-time court clerk position. The Municipal

Court reopened Sept. 15 after being dark for several months. In July, Fernley Deputy City

Attorney Brandi Jensen was sworn in as Yerington’s municipal court judge.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
