City looking to recognize longest living resident

Staff Report

The City of Fernley is looking to recognize the resident who has lived in Fernley the longest as part of its 25th anniversary celebration scheduled for next July.

To enter, include the full name and age of the nominee, a short story, memory, or fun fact about them, a photo of the person (current or past is welcome, both is preferred) and proof of residency if available, including old envelopes, deeds, paperwork and fun documentation.

Entries can be submitted to contest chair Brandi Lehman Jensen at [email protected] or drop them off to her attention at City Hall.

Fernley Development Services Coordinator Jessica Murdock is heading the planning for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the city’s incorporation. Murdock is looking for community groups, businesses and residents to volunteer to help plan the festival, which would run for three days, July 1-3, leading up to a big 4th of July celebration.

To participate, email [email protected] or call (775) 784-9850.
