City receives temporary Certificate of Occupancy for CRRC

The City of Fernley has received the temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Community Response and Resource Center and is expected to obtain the final Certificate of Occupancy by the end of the month, Deputy City Manager Lydia Altick said during the July 16 City Council meeting.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. on August 27.

“We’ll send out more invitations and notifications when that gets closer, but (it’s) pretty exciting,” Altick said.

Groundbreaking for Phase 1 of the project was held in March 2024. Phase 1 includes a multipurpose room, commercial kitchen, office space, classroom, teen center, and outdoor event space. The city is currently working on a lease agreement with the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows to operate and maintain the building.

Future phases of the project include an early learning center in Phase II and a gymnasium in Phase III.

I grew up in Fernley and would be interested to see how many answers I know. The coin is beautiful. Congrats on 25 years as a city! Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
