McIntyre Presents Hohnholz with Mayor’s Spotlight Award

The National Association of Student Council Distinguished Student Leader Program is a recognition initiative designed for high school students who demonstrate outstanding leadership skills. Participants compete in a series of leadership tasks and activities, cumulating in the creation of a comprehensive portfolio that shows evidence of their leadership journey across various areas such as goal setting, team building, and civic engagement.
McIntyre Presents Hohnholz with Mayor’s Spotlight Award

Fernley Mayor Neal McIntyre presented Fernley High School Student Body President Jackson Hohnholz with the Mayor’s Spotlight Award at the May 7 City Council meeting. 

McIntyre created the Mayor’s Spotlight Award to recognize the outstanding efforts of Fernley residents. McIntyre honored Hohnholz for becoming the first Lyon County student to be named a Distinguished Student Leader by the National Association Student of Councils.

Participants compete in a series of leadership tasks and activities, cumulating in the creation of a comprehensive portfolio that shows evidence of their leadership journey across various areas such as goal setting, team building, and civic engagement.  

“Jackson is a unique leader, and his leadership skills come naturally to him as they are part of his personality,” McIntyre said. “The mayor, city council and the entire city of Fernley is so proud of you and the positive impact you have made on our community and the role model that you are to your fellow students. We can't wait to see what the future holds for you.”
