Nevada Health Centers’ Mobile Medical Services Unit Makes Access to Healthcare Easy in Northern Nevada

Nevada Health Centers has launched a mobile medical unit to improve access to healthcare in rural areas. Based in northern Nevada, the Mobile Medical Services unit removes barriers to care by visiting rural towns, parking for the day, and offering a full schedule of primary care appointments.

Dr. Carol Alley leads the mobile staff to deliver quality medical care to both children and adults. They offer the same services offered at a traditional brick and mortar doctor’s office. It’s basically a family practice on wheels. It has two exam rooms and a small laboratory. The mobile unit provides: full examinations, well-child/adolescent care, sick visits and acute care, immunizations, prescriptions for medications, and lab testing (established patients only).

Tuesday, Jan. 14, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Lockwood Rainbow Bend HOA, 500 Ave De La Bleu De Clair

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 9:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Dayton, 60 2nd Avenue

Thursday, Jan. 16, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Silver Springs Food Pantry, 1290 Lahontan St.

Friday, Jan. 17, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sparks, Greenbrae Center 510 Greenbrae Center

Tuesday, Jan. 21, 9:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Fernley 105 Lois Lane across the street from Senior Center/Human Services

They accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid, Medicare, and Nevada Check Up. NVHC’s mission is to provide access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada. They also have a team of patient services educators that are available to assist with any questions or concerns regarding health insurance.
