Fernley woman arrested on multiple felony and drug charges

Fernley woman arrested on multiple felony and drug charges
Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Lyon County Sheriffs deputies investigating the theft of a vehicle reported stolen in Sparks arrested a woman Tuesday on several drug charges as well as possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding police.

According to the LCSO, the sheriff’s office was contacted Tuesday by Sparks Police Department detectives to assist with a stolen black Audi SUV driven by Michelle Martian. Deputies checked a home in the 400 block of Fort Sutter Blvd in Fernley. The deputy observed the garage partially open at the home with a dark-colored vehicle parked inside. Someone at the house immediately shut the garage door and the deputy couldn’t positively identify the vehicle as the one reported stolen.

At approximately 2:21 p.m., a deputy saw the stolen vehicle traveling westbound on Newlands Drive, leaving Walmart. The deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Newlands Drive and 95A, but the vehicle accelerated, fled, and drove into the parking lot of Silverado Casino. Then, the driver pulled into the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, where she eventually stopped. The deputy conducted a high-risk traffic stop and took the driver, Alyssa Holmes, into custody.

Following the arrest, deputies searched the vehicle and found 2.6 grams of methamphetamines, packaging materials, and narcotic paraphernalia.

Holmes was later transported to the Lyon County Jail, where jail deputies found an additional 26.7 grams of methamphetamines and a methamphetamine pipe hidden in her groin area.

Holmes was booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding an officer, possession of methamphetamine, introduction of narcotics to a jail facility, possession of methamphetamine for sale, two counts of possession of narcotic paraphernalia and driving on a revoked driver’s license. Her bail was set at $53,420.

The original suspect, Michelle Martian, is still outstanding.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Sergeant Bill McDaniel at (775) 463-6600.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
