County moves Sheriff’s Office, Human Services into new Silver Springs building
The Fernley Reporter

Lyon County Manager Jeff Page announced Tueaday that the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Lyon County Human Services are moving into their new building at 620 Lake Avenue in Silver Springs.

In July 2015, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of the building from Clean-Dried Processing for a total price of $580,000. Lyon County spent an additional $494,424 to remodel the interior to meet the needs of both departments.

The building is 6,800 square feet with 86,609 square feet of parking and room for expansion. The building will house the Patrol Division for Silver Springs, Narcotics Division, Detective Division, LCSO Command staff as well as providing holding cells for arrestees. The Human Services Administration and Support staff will be headquartered at this facility as well.

County Manager Page said Lyon County is pushing toward one stop operations for the general public. He said move will eventually reduce the number of county operated buildings by three, thus improving efficiency with maintenance and custodial services.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
