Kat Heart to headline virtual benefit concert for healthcare workers

Kat Heart to headline virtual benefit concert for healthcare workers

Concert to be livestreamed on Facebook

Local rock musician Kat Heart will perform in front of the newly-built LOVE Sculpture this Saturday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Renown Regional Medical Center. Often described as a cross between Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin, Heart's concert will directly benefit frontline healthcare workers through local organized effort Rounds 4 Heroes & Feed Our Heroes (R4H + FOH).

Together with the medical community, Rounds 4 Heroes, led by Dr. James Lynch, is a way to say "thank you" to workers in the local hospitals and also support local restaurants. Restaurant owners, Kaya and Kevin Stanley, founded Feed Our Heroes in honor of Heart. Musician Kat is also a Saint Mary's COVID-19 ICU nurse and single mom who had to quarantine apart from her four children due to her contact with coronavirus patients. The shared vision of Feed Our Heroes and Rounds 4 Heroes resulted in a joining of forces to elevate reach and impact. The fiscal sponsor of Feed Our Heroes and Rounds 4 Heroes is High Fives Foundation, a Truckee based non-profit focused on preventing life-changing injuries and providing resources and hope if they happen.

"Local businesses, particularly restaurants, have been struck during the national emergency. We are doing all we can to help support frontline workers throughout the pandemic while also driving our recovery in Northern Nevada," Dr. James Lynch, founder of Spine Nevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute explains.

Spine Nevada and R4H + FOH have plans in place to ensure that there will be plenty of safe space to physically distance among the intimate group of attendees while enjoying the concert. Concert-goers can attend virtually during the live-stream on the Feed Our Heroes Facebook page.

Those who are interested in supporting the cause can donate via the High Fives Foundation here

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
