City of Fernley closes City hall, provides only essential services in response to COVID-19

Following Governor Sisolak’s directive regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Fernley has closed City Hall to the public, effective March 18 at 8 a.m.

No in-person business will be conducted and the City is discontinuing all non-essential services until further notice. Utility payments may still be made online at https://www.xpressbillpay.com/#/ or via phone at (775) 784-9930, in addition payments may be dropped off in the drop box in the parking lot located in front of City Hall. You can e-mail questions/concerns to [email protected].

Utility shutoffs will be postponed until further notice.

The City Council meeting scheduled for March 18 has been cancelled. The items that were included on this agenda will be carried forward to a future date.

The City is discontinuing all non-essential services at this time; however, you may still direct any inquires to department contacts listed on our webpage via e-mail or phone. The City wants to reassure our residents that we will continue to provide all key essential services with great caution and care (such as sewer, water, street lights, etc.). The City takes the Governor’s directive seriously with regard to social distancing and is committed to provide that same level of caution and care for all City employees who provide these key essential services to our residents.

This is an ever-evolving situation, and we ask our residents for their patience and understanding as the City continues to work through this unprecedented time in our history. Please help to minimize and lessen the spread of COVID-19 by following the Governor’s orders, and the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by encouraging social distancing, proper and frequent handwashing, and utilizing proper etiquette when sneezing and coughing.
